The Clay Studio of Missoula was created to fill a void in Missoula’s growing community; the need for a comprehensive ceramic center where hand-building and wheel throwing classes could be offered to the community and where a handful of serious, but less established clay artists could pool energy and resources to maintain a collective studio.

The Clay Studio of Missoula’s goals are: to provide a quality work environment for all levels of clay artists made affordable through group sharing, to provide high level personal instruction for those starting out or those with particular inquiry, and to offer work space for the more mature artist who may not be able to afford the high costs of a private studio.

Call for Wabi-Sabi Themed Art – Any media or material, from major installations to miniscule “gems.” Because the Wabi Sabi ideal is in such contrast to our usual (Western) approach to art, the emphasis of this exhibit will be not on the final perfected form of the work, but on how well pieces reflect the sense and feeling of this elusive concept. In particular, focus will be on the imaginative use of materials and uniqueness. See the Wabi-Sabi portion of the website for inspiration and more definitions.

All works must be ready to display and labeled with artist’s name, telephone, medium, size, and price, if for sale. Entry fee.
